What is Young Teen Fiction (YTF)?

Staffordshire's Young Teen Fiction Book Award is aimed at KS3 pupils, age 11-14, who live or go to school in Staffordshire, or who use Staffordshire Library Services. It is an opportunity for young people to read an assortment of fiction and nominate titles they have enjoyed.

Nominations and votes are only accepted from young people - this award belongs to them! Please encourage them to take part.

How schools can support YTF

  • Register your school to take part in YTF

  • Get your KS3 students reading eligible books (aimed at 11-14 year olds and published in the UK for the first time in 2018)

  • Make sure your students nominate any eligible books they have enjoyed

  • Encourage the use of public libraries to help give a wider choice of titles

  • Make full use of the Schools' Library Service

If you have any queries or comments regarding the awards please email: liz.gardner@staffordshire.gov.uk
