Crafting Communities

Making Connections through Craft in the Community

Staffordshire Libraries and Arts Service received funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England to deliver four Artist-Maker residencies in libraries across Staffordshire, crafting connections between libraries and communities.

Local Artist Makers worked with libraries across the county to form creative hubs that used crafts and creativity to combat loneliness, bring people together, help others, form social groups, share skills and promote wellbeing.

Residencies took place at Perton, Rugeley, Barton Under Needwood and Blythe Bridge. Each residency concluded with a collaborative commission and creative resources to support ongoing crafting and creativity in libraries.
