In December 2023, Winny and Daniel were given the best Christmas gift of all when they welcomed baby Uche into the world.
With a very international family – with parents in Kenya, a sister in Germany and two others in Essex – Winny was facing first-time motherhood without her loved ones close to her.
Winny said,
“Uche is my first baby, and my family is really spread out so I don’t have that close support network. Hungry Little Minds filled that gap and made me feel like I wasn’t alone in this."
“Uche goes to daycare three days a week now, but I still like to check the Hungry Little Minds emails to see what else is out there and what activities we can do together."
Winny works as a sustainability manager for a logistics company, but she still finds time to fit in agricultural passion projects, including tree planting. And Hungry Little Minds activities, of course!
Winny’s husband, Daniel, is a marine engineer and he travels a lot for work. This means Winny and Uche’s mornings are often spent just the two of them, enjoying each other’s company and taking their time to start the day.
Winny added,
“My parenting style is very different to my mum’s. The last time she had a baby was more than 20 years ago, and things were very different then.
“Signing up to Hungry Little Minds has given me information that I didn’t know before.
“We like to start our day nice and relaxed. Uche takes her time to wake up, while I make her a breakfast of oats, flaxseed, honey, chopped nuts and banana – her favourite!
“I’m very grateful for all the support I’ve received from Hungry Little Minds and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.”
