When Sophie and Roshane were thinking about starting a family, where they would bring up their children was high on their list of priorities.
Roshane was born in Jamaica and moved to Birmingham when he was 15. That’s where he met Birmingham-born Sophie.
Keen to move away from a large city but keep close links to their family, Staffordshire was a perfect fit and the couple settled in Burntwood when Sophie was three months pregnant with Eziah.
Preparing for life as a new mum, Sophie searched for services and support in her local area. During that search, she found Hungry Little Minds and the rest is history!
Sophie said,
“Staffordshire is perfect for us. We live in a great area, and we can get to work and visit family really easily.
“I was thrilled to find Hungry Little Minds and signed up straight away. I love learning about all the different activities that would be good for Eziah.
“I really like that Hungry Little Minds tip and activities are tailored to his specific age. It’s not just ‘things for one-year-olds', it’s things for 52 weeks, 54 weeks, 56 weeks. Babies change so much, so quickly and it’s really useful to have that kind of information and guidance.”
Sophie works for the NSPCC as a helpline practice manager and Roshane is a therapy assistant in a hospital in Sutton Coldfield.
The busy couple still finds time to fit Hungry Little Minds activities into their day-to-day lives.
“Our favourite activity is the post box game, and we play that quite a lot. Every time we get a cardboard box with a delivery, Eziah knows it’s time to have some fun!
“Hungry Little Minds has been so useful for us, and I’ve already recommended it to people I’ve met in baby groups.
“Eziah is 16 months old now and I’m looking forward to seeing what activities are in store for us in the future!”
