Lobuhle, Chris and Liyana's story

When babies are registered in Staffordshire, parents receive an email from Hungry Little Minds, congratulating them on the new arrival and inviting them to sign up.

Following the birth of Liyana in the summer of 2024, that’s just what Lobuhle and Chris did!

Lobuhle said,

“I’m not from Lichfield so it’s been really useful to find out about all the support and events on offer in my local area. And the health check reminders have been great!

“I’ve been to some of the groups recommended in the emails and because of that, I’ve been able to make friends with lots of local mums. We regularly arrange play dates, which is great for Liyana’s development but also brilliant for me. Getting out and socialising makes a big difference.”

The couple, who are 39 and 40-years-old, met in 2019 and married four years later. Lobuhle is a civil servant, and Chris owns a pizza restaurant in Birmingham.

Chris added,

“We had Liyana when we were a bit older. That meant we were very settled and felt mentally prepared. But we still had a lot to learn!

“Liyana has been at nursery since she was seven months old and Hungry Little Minds complements her development perfectly.

“As a restaurant owner, I’m at work in the evenings but the great thing about Hungry Little Minds is that you can do the activities at home, to fit around your life.

“We’d recommend it to everyone.”
