Easing of Coronavirus restrictions

St Peters Bridge Burton upon Trent

Staffordshire County Council has recently been successful in bidding for Emergency Active Travel funding. The funding is to be used to implement temporary walking and cycling measures along routes identified in the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan and by local Members.  St Peter’s Bridge, Burton upon Trent forms part of the first tranche of schemes to be delivered and comprises

-Implementation of a 30mph speed limit (currently 40mph)

-Installation of cycle warning symbol Road markings

When are the works taking place?


When will the works be completed?

scheme set up will take 1 days

scheme will remain in place for approx. 6 months

Will I be able to access my home/business?

Yes access will be maintained as usual

What effect could the works have on me?

Minor delays as traffic adjusts to new layouts.  More opportunity to cycle, in addition to helping with adherence to social distancing guidance

  • Please drive appropriately through the works.
  • Check your shoes before entering your property or car to make sure there is no bitumen from the works.
