Scaffold and hoarding permit

To apply for a scaffold and hoarding permit, please read the information below:

What is a scaffold and hoarding permit?

A permit is needed for any scaffolding or hoarding that needs to be placed on the highway, it does not control the standard in which the scaffold or hoarding is put up, this remains the responsibility of the applicant.

Wherever possible, a scaffold or hoarding must be placed on private property. Where applications are received and it is clear on inspection that sufficient room is available on private land, the application will be refused but is still chargeable. Sufficient room on private land is determined by ourselves and is not negotiable.

Fees

There are two types of permit that can be applied for:

  • Domestic building permits cost £121 for the first month and the same again for each additional month.
  • Commercial building permits cost £160 for the first month and the same again for each additional month.
