(Revocation of 50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2021

  1. Staffordshire County Council on 03 August 2021 made a Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that revoked the 50 mph speed limit on part of A5127 Birmingham Road, Shenstone which will then assume restricted road status

  2. This Order will revoke the Staffordshire County Council (50 MPH Speed Limit) (Birmingham Road A5127, Shenstone) Order 2002 insofar as it relates to this Order.

  3. Documents may be examined during office hours at 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH and during opening hours at Shenstone Library, Main Street, Shenstone, Staffordshire.

  4. Persons questioning the validity or provisions of the Order on the grounds that such powers are not conferred by the Act, or that any requirement or instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date the Order was made apply to the High Court.

  5. The Order will commence on 09 August 2021

Staffordshire County Council (A5127 Birmingham Road, Shenstone)

(Revocation of 50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2021

The Staffordshire County Council ("the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 84(1) and (2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby makes the following Order:-

  1. This Traffic Regulation Order revokes the Staffordshire County Council (50 MPH Speed Limit) (Birmingham Road A5127, Shenstone) Order 2002 insofar as it relates to this Order.

  2. This Order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (A5127 Birmingham Road, Shenstone) (Revocation of 50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2021 and shall come into operation on 09 August 2021.

  3. The section of road subject to this Revocation Order will assume Restricted Road status with a 30mph speed limit.

  4. No speed limit resulting from this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

Schedule

A5127 Birmingham Road, Shenstone – from the termination of the existing 30 MPH speed limit 25m north of its junction with St. Johns Hill, in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 250 metres.

(40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2021

The Staffordshire County Council ("the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby makes the following Order:-

  1. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 mph on the length of road specified in the Schedule to this Order.

  2. No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

  3. This Order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (Cartersfield Lane, Stonnall) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2021 and shall come into operation on 09 August 2021.

Schedule

Cartersfield Lane, Stonnall – from the existing 30 MPH Speed Restriction (located approximately 90 metres north of its junction with Berryfields) in a northerly direction, for a distance of approximately 300 metres.
