1. Staffordshire County Council propose to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to impose a 40 mph speed limit on Barley Green Lane and Croxall Road Old Road, near Alrewas.

1. Staffordshire County Council propose to make a Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce No Waiting at Any Time on Croxall Road Old Road and Barley Green Lane near Alrewas.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Staffordshire County Council (Barley Green Lane and Croxall Road Old Road, near Alrewas)

(40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 20**

The Staffordshire County Council ("the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby makes the following Order:-

1. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 mph on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Order.

2. No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

3. This Order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (Barley Green Lane and Croxall Road Old Road, near Alrewas) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 20** and shall come into operation on day of 20**.

- Barley Green Lane, near Alrewas - from a point approximately 20 metres north of its roundabout with A513 Croxall Road and continuing in a north-easterly direction towards and onto Croxall Road Old Road

- Croxall Road Old Road, near Alrewas – from its junction with Barley Green Lane and continuing for a distance of approximately 610 metres in a generally north-westerly direction

The Staffordshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124(1)(d) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act of 1984") as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the 2004 Act") as amended and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 hereby makes the following Order:-

1. This Amendment Order shall come into operation on xx xxxx 20xx and may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (Lichfield) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order No 1/2009 (Amendment) No. x/20xx

2. The above Order amends the Plans marked CV 223, incorporating waiting restrictions at locations specified in the Schedule to this Order and which form part of the Staffordshire County Council (Lichfield) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order No 1/2009and in substitution thereof and adds Plans marked xxxx. xxxx.

Statement of Reasons:

Barley Green Lane – The proposals will reduce the speed limit to 40mph and prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time along both sides of the carriageway from a point north of the roundabout with the A513 up to the 90-degree bend with Croxall Old Road in a northerly direction. The proposals will prevent inappropriate parking, improve visibility and increase cyclist and driver safety.

 

Croxall Old Road – The proposals will reduce the speed limit to 40mph and prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time along both sides of the carriageway from the 90-degree bend with Barley Green Lane up to a point northwest of Tarmac’s Quarry. The proposals will prevent inappropriate parking, improve visibility and increase cyclist and driver safety.
