(30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2021
- Staffordshire County Council on 27 July 2021 made a Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that imposed a 30 mph speed limit on Gorsemoor Green (Lichfield), Dodds Lane (Chorley), Park Drive (Chorley), Lower Lane (Chorley), Shute Hill (Chorley), Ford Lane (Creswell Green) and Lodge Lane (Creswell Green).
- Documents may be examined during office hours at 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH and during opening hours at Lichfield Library, The Guild of St Mary’s Centre, Market Square, Lichfield or at our traffic regulation orders page.
- Persons questioning the validity or provisions of the Order on the grounds that such powers are not conferred by the Act, or that any requirement or instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date the Order was made apply to the High Court.
- The Order will commence on 02 August 2021

(30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2021
The Staffordshire County Council ("the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby makes the following Order:-
- No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 mph on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Order.
- No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
- This Order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (Gorsemoor Green (Lichfield), Dodds Lane (Chorley), Park Drive (Chorley), Lower Lane (Chorley), Shute Hill (Chorley), Ford Lane (Creswell Green) and Lodge Lane (Creswell Green)) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2021 and shall come into operation on 02 August 2021.
Schedule
Gorsemoor Green, Lichfield – from the junction with Park Drive in a north westerly direction for a distance of approximately 305 metres.
Dodds Lane, Chorley – from the junction with Park Drive in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 155 metres.
Park Drive, Chorley – from the junction with Gorsemoor Green and Dodds Lane to the junction with Lower Lane, Shute Hill and Lodge Lane, a distance of approximately 210 metres.
Lower Lane, Chorley – from the junction with Park Drive, Shute Hill, and Lodge Lane in a south westerly direction for a distance of approximately 185 metres.
(D3205) Shute Hill, Chorley – from the junction with Park Drive, Lower Lane and Lodge Lane to the junction with C0098 Shute Hill and Ford Lane, a distance of approximately 430 metres.
(C0098) Shute Hill, Chorley – from a point approximately 300 metres south of the junction with D3205 Shute Hill and Ford Lane in a northerly direction to the junction with Farewell Lane, a distance of approximately 645 metres.
Ford Lane (Creswell Green) – from the junction with C0098 Shute Hill and D3205 Shute Hill in an easterly direction for approximately 237 metres.
Lodge Lane (Creswell Green) – from the junction with Farewell Lane to the junction with Shute Hill, Lower Lane and Park Drive, a distance of approximately 456 metres.
