Statement of Reasons

This proposal forms part of the Staffordshire County Council Divisional Highway Programme for County Councillor David Smith, the local member for the area. It comes in response to continued problems with inappropriate parking along Admiral Parker Drive and other surrounding roads by visitors to the nearby railway station.

The proposal will seek to mitigate these parking practices with the introduction of no waiting at any time restrictions, in those areas where safety is deemed to be the overriding factor, and a no waiting Monday to Friday, 11am to 2pm on surrounding roads where the impact on residents is greater.

The introduction of these measures will avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road, or any other road, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and facilitate the passage on the road, or any other road of any class of traffic including pedestrians.
