Permit parking schemes

Many residential / business areas with little or no off-street parking of their own, experience unregulated on-street parking issues caused by numbers of vehicles, usually from outside of the area, being parked by people whom may then leave the locality to access facilities outside of the immediate area.

In some locations where residents and businesses find it difficult to park, Staffordshire County Council (SCC) may be able to introduce permit parking schemes that require all vehicles to display a permit showing their entitlement to park within the permit area. In this way SCC can ensure that communities are protected from those seeking free and/or convenient parking at the expense of local property occupiers, that have no other parking option than to park on-street.
