Personal searches

What is a personal search?

A personal search is essentially the same as the official local authority search which is conducted in association with district/borough councils. A personal search can be undertaken by anyone, but it is usually undertaken by a personal search company or a private individual. It is not covered by a guarantee like the official local authority search.

A personal search will not reveal detail about the highway extent. For this information you will need to request a Highway Extent search.

How much does it cost?

Please see our fees and charges.

Application Form

To apply, you will need to provide your contact details, site details and upload a plan of the location requested. Payment is taken at the point of order via debit or credit card and you receive a notification receipt once ordered to confirm we have received your application.

What is the turnaround time?

We will aim to return searches within 5 working days, but please be aware that this may take longer in periods of high activity. We do not offer an expedited service.
