Staffordshire Day

Staffordshire Day is the day we celebrate everything we love about Staffordshire

Every year on 1 May, Staffordshire comes alive with events of all shapes and sizes across the county and loads of competitions and special offers from our great attractions, restaurants, pubs, and hotels.

Whether you love our captivating countryside, our thrilling theme parks or our eye-opening history and heritage, there will be something for you on Staffordshire Day!

You can visit the official Staffordshire Day website for more information.

What is Staffordshire Day?

The initiative to celebrate Staffordshire was first announced in 2015, and a public poll was held to decide the annual date from a selection of dates that had strong Staffordshire connections.

1 May, the anniversary of Staffordshire's most famous son, Josiah Wedgwood, setting up his pottery company in 1759, was chosen.

The first official Staffordshire Day took place in 2016, the year the county turned 1000 years old.

Staffordshire Day 2021

Due to the ongoing global pandemic, and national lockdown restrictions, we are currently planning for another virtual celebration of our great county.

As things stand, the programme is going to be online-only, and will once again take place on social media and the Enjoy Staffordshire website.

There will be a host of activities recognising our pride in our county, promoting our resilience, kindness and community spirit, and celebrating Staffordshire's fantastic local businesses.

We need your help to put the programme together. So get in touch with us if you want to host online performances, readings, talks, demonstrations, and activities for people to get involved with at home.

You can reach us via email at info@enjoystaffordshire.com, on Facebook, or Twitter.

We look forward to hearing from you
