Following the outbreak of COVID-19, organisers can confirm that IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire cannot take place as planned on Sunday 7 June 2020.

IRONMAN are currently looking for volunteers and volunteer groups who can help make future events an outstanding success and help create an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators from all over the world.

What can you expect as a volunteer?

IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire volunteers will provide support throughout the race week across many different areas including:

  • athlete registration,
  • marshalling the course,
  • assisting in transition,
  • and handing out medals and t-shirts at the finish line.

Volunteering at IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire will give you a unique, rewarding, and memorable experience. By joining a team of over 500 volunteers, stewards, medical staff and technical officials, you will get the chance to make friendships with fellow volunteers from across the world and the UK and to give something back to the community.

You can also enhance your CV by working behind the scenes of a world-class event series and one of the UK’s most exciting sporting challenges.

What do we expect from volunteers? 

As an IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire volunteer, you will be the public face of the event.

We expect volunteers to be:

  • welcoming,
  • good natured, 
  • work well in their teams; 
  • present a positive image of Staffordshire and of the IRONMAN UK & Ireland event;
  • and to help over 2,500 athletes achieve their dream of completing IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire.

Fundraising opportunity for groups of volunteers

Some volunteer roles, such as managing feed stations or handing out run lap-bands, are more suited to groups of volunteers.If you have a group of 10+ volunteers, and would like to find out how you can raise funds for your sporting, community, or charity group through volunteering with IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire, please email staffordshire70.3@ironmanvolunteers.com
