Overview

South Staffs SEND

From April 2018, South Staffordshire Schools will trial a system or ‘prototype’ where South Staffordshire will be divided into four geographical ‘hubs’ that will form their own decision making panels. These panels will consist of mainly headteachers and Special Needs Coordinators who will work together to overcome some of the SEND challenges currently faced.

The main objective of the prototype will be to develop a new and different system for supporting children and young people with SEND.

The desired outcome is that the new system will be more streamlined so that children and young people can receive the right support at the right time. 

We anticipate that the prototype will: eradicate long waiting times, highlight inconsistencies with the current system, cut out long forms and ensure support is provided quicker.
