Under 16 school transport

Please note

Free home to school transport will continue in September for those entitled to it with additional temporary hygiene and safety measures on dedicated school services. Those entitled to free travel on public transport will also be able to get to school without a problem, with the county council willing to provide temporary increased capacity on busy routes if necessary. Please see the latest government guidance for passengers travelling on public transport.

Travel passes are still being issued for children entitled to transport and should be with children before the start of the term on 1 September.

Getting a particular school place does not give you the right to free transport.

If your child attends a school which is not the catchment or nearest school with places available, or to which they are not entitled to travel assistance under the income assessed transport criteria you will have to arrange and pay for your child's travel.
