Holiday Activities and Food

COP2315 HAF HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES FOOD WEB AD 870x301 pixels-01

If your child is eligible, they can have up to four free places on our winter Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. This will run from Tuesday 2nd January to Friday 5th January 2024, and includes a healthy meal with every place booked.

Eligible children will have received a 'HAF' school code. There is one 'HAF' code per school. This code will be the same for siblings at the same school.  Please enter the 'HAF' school code exactly as shown to register your child and then view the activities.

You can mix and match activities using different holiday clubs, or book with just one club. We want as many children as possible to enjoy the limited places on offer; please think of others and do not book your child on two activities on the same day, as this could prevent another child from getting a place.

If your child does not turn up twice in a row, and you have not contacted the club, then they can cancel your remaining booked places, and offer them to another child on their waiting list. Of course, there may be genuine times when your child is unable to attend. We understand this, but please let the holiday club know, so that place can be filled and meals are not wasted.

Registration for the Christmas holidays will open at 4pm on Thursday 7th Decemeber.

Our annual report for 2022 can be viewed on our website.

Background

The Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) is a central government initiative that requires all Local Authorities to deliver a programme of inclusive activities including a hot meal over the school holidays for children aged 5 – 16 years. It is free to those who receive benefit related school meals.

We have teamed up with local organisations to develop a timetable of enriching activities where children will get the opportunity to try new things, work on arts and crafts, cookery and sport as well as receive a hot meal wherever possible.

The Department for Education has provided funding for this initiative.
