We can all do our bit to make Staffordshire greener and reduce our impact on the environment by thinking differently about how we live our everyday lives.

Small changes can make a big difference, like changing how we travel, heat our homes, how we work, look after our surroundings, what we buy and how we dispose of our waste.

Together we can Make Staffordshire Sustainable, whether you are a resident, a business or a community group, small things that you do can make a big difference.

If we all do our bit we will breathe cleaner air, create greener communities and make Staffordshire a healthier place to live and work.

What is Staffordshire County Council doing to be more sustainable?

Staffordshire County Council is championing the climate change agenda and has made a commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The council are replacing all of the street lights with LED lightbulbs, all of the corporate buildings are powered with green renewable energy and transform residents waste into energy, which powers over 60,000 homes…and that’s just the beginning.

Climate change presents the county council and the Staffordshire public with both challenges and opportunities. By acting now and working together as a county, we can tackle the impacts that could arise, and at the same time benefit from initiatives that save money and protect the environment. You can read Staffordshire County Councils Climate Change Strategic Development Framework and climate change action plan outlining how the council plan tackle climate change.
