After all the festivities are over it can be difficult to know how to dispose of your real Christmas tree but important that the trees are correctly recycled.
Take your tree to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre
You can take your tree whole to your nearest recycling centre and drop it into the garden waste container.
Find your nearest centre
Don’t forget – if you are visiting your local Household Waste Recycling Centre to drop your tree off you can also take your unwanted cardboard, glass, and plastic.
Donate your tree to charity to be recycled
There are several charities in Staffordshire who will collect your real tree for a small donation and will recycle it for you.
St Giles Hospice
Last year St Giles raised a record-breaking £60,000 collecting trees!
Book your collection online by 5pm on Wednesday 5th January 2022 for a donation and they’ll do the rest.

Place your tree in your garden waste bin at home
If you have a garden waste bin at home, you can simply chop it up and put it in there ready to be collected. Be sure to double check the collection days over the Christmas period.
