Work smarter

Why does smarter working help the air we breathe?

If your employer allows you to work from home, even one day a week, it will make a huge impact on the quality of the air you breathe.

The average journey to work is 24 miles in the West Midlands. If that’s you, it’s costing you over £2,200 a year  by car and it’s putting over 2,125 balloons of toxic exhaust into the air. So working at home just one day a week means that you’re saving almost 1,800 balloons of harmful exhaust fumes going into the air we breathe.

Air quality is also worse during the morning and evening commuter periods. By working agile or smart working we can dramatically improve air pollution levels on the most congested routes.

Why we should be Air Aware in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent
