Support for early years settings

How can early years settings be supported?

Staffordshire County Council provide a range of guidance and support from our dedicated Early Years Quality and Sufficiency Support Consultants (EYQSST) and SENIS Team (EY SENCo). These services were formerly based at Entrust but have moved back to Staffordshire County Council.

Below you will find information on some of the support available and useful documentation.

Early Years Quality Support and Market Development and Sufficiency

The Early Years Team is able to provide advice, guidance and support to early years providers, including private, voluntary and independent settings, childminders and schools, who offer places to children from 0-5 years old.

This covers both sufficiency and market development and quality, safeguarding and welfare and can include areas such as setting up a childcare business, expanding current provision, targeted support relating to actions identified from an Ofsted inspection, early years sector workshops and network meetings.

Special Educational Needs and Inclusion Service (SENIS)

The SENIS Team can help support settings, your staff and pupils to overcome barriers to learning. From those who need to ‘catch up’, to those who have complex profiles. We look to improve outcomes by providing expert support, advice and guidance.
