Entrust are commissioned by Staffordshire County Council to provide support to the Early Years sector. The offer has changed considerably in recent years, so we have been asked to provide some clarity about the service we commission.
Entrust deliver four aspects of support based on the statutory duties the local authority is required to deliver:
- Business Support: We are required to ensure that there is sufficient childcare. Entrust support us to fulfil this role by helping to complete an assessment of sufficiency twice per year. They use this data to stimulate the market in areas of need and offer tailored support to settings to help them to be sustainable and efficient.
- Quality Liaison: This support is available to settings where needs arise, for example, settings who may be overdue an Ofsted inspection and we feel it would be beneficial to offer some support prior to inspection. This support is tailored to the needs of the setting.
- Quality Support: We are required to provide support for settings graded Requires Improvement or Inadequate. Entrust provide tailored support to these settings to help them meet the actions identified for improvement by Ofsted.
- EYFSP Moderation: We are required to moderate the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile in line with national guidance. The majority of this work is completed in reception classes in schools.
We still provide access to informal networking opportunities available through the cluster networks within the boroughs and districts. Information about when and where these take place can be accessed via Entrust. If you need any further information about the services available from Entrust please contact them on 0333 300 1900 or enquiries@entrust-ed.co.uk.
