Overview

When a Young Person commits an offence they will be given a 'disposal'.  The type of disposal is dependant of the gravity of offence and if the Young Person has previously offended. 

Out of Court Disposals

These disposals are given 'out of court' by Police Officers.  They form part of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders (LASPO) Act 2012.

Court Disposals

These disposals are given in the Court system often by the Magistrate in charge of the case. They all involve working with Staffordshire Youth Offending Service.
