Implementation plans: Community offer
What is the community offer programme?
The programme is looking at a range of opportunities and services in local communities that help people with a learning disability and/or autism live a happy, safe and fulfilled life, including:
- Day opportunities: this could be 1:1 support or building based day opportunities.
- Building based respite opportunities.
- County Council residential care services.
- Services for carers.
Update on the programme
After engaging with users and carers of the services alongside other key stakeholders, we are looking at what the future of the various services in the scope of the programme are.
Cabinet agreed a range of recommendations about a range of day opportunities in June 2019. You can read a copy of the Adult Learning Disability Community Offer report (457 KB) online.
Cabinet agreed a range of recommendations about supported living and specialist day opportunities (provided directly by the council) in September 2019. A copy of the Adult learning disability community offer report can be found here.
We will be making further recommendations about county council residential care services and building based respite in October 2019. We will share a link to this report shortly.
