How are tenders advertised? 

Procurements for contracts below £25,000 are managed by the specific service Directorate within the council using a quotation system, whereas contracts at/above £25,000 requires prospective suppliers to have registered in the following portals to view the opportunities: -

How do I apply?

To participate in a tender opportunity, registration is required on our e tendering platform apply online via E-tendering. After registering, access is provided to all tendering opportunities on the portal,

What else should I do?

The Commercial Team conducts tenders to award contracts and framework agreements in order for goods, services and works to be supplied to the council and its partners. A tender is the process by which the council will assess submissions from providers in order to award contracts. A tender may take slightly different forms due to the contract spend and nature of the goods and services being procured. The tender documents will clearly state the process being used for each tender to assist your understanding of the process. 

The Government have issued guidance to the SME market on basic tendering requirements which provides a good insight into answering tender questions, value for money, social value and some top tips amongst other things. Whilst this is purely aimed at doing business with central Government, Staffordshire County Council do recognise the general principals around tendering, which SMEs can appreciate
