Dignity in Care Awards 2018

Over 200 guests were joined by family members and work colleagues for the annual celebration held at Newcastle College of Performing Arts.

The Staffordshire County Council awards recognise care services and individuals who ensure people in care are treated with dignity and respect.

Amongst the winners were Hayley Clunn from Newcastle-under-Lyme who works for AMG Nursing and Care Services. Hayley won the Dignity Champion Award, with Rachel Pender from Davlyn House Residential Home in Brindley Ford being Highly Commended.

Informal Carer Award went to Jayne Clarke from Dresden for her work in looking after her disabled son, with Lyndsey Bowles from Lichfield being Highly Commended.

Other categories included the Young Dignity Champion, recognising outstanding individuals who act as an example to others. This award went to Daniel West, aged 11 from Barlaston with Oliver Durber aged 18 from Hartshill being Highly Commended.

The awards were presented by Alan White, Deputy Leader at Staffordshire County Council and Cabinet Member for Health, Care and wellbeing, and MBE Jan Burns, The National Dignity Council Chair.
