365 great things about Staffordshire - Lichfield Catherdral's 'One Small Step'

To mark 50th anniversary of the Moon landing, we'd like to dedicate today's 'Great Thing about Staffordshire' to a special exhibit being staged at Lichfield Cathedral.

‘One Small Step’ is an installation artwork by Artist-in-Residence Peter Walker and gives visitors to the Cathedral the opportunity to walk on the moon as they transform the Cathedral Nave floor into a lunar landscape.

Go along and take a once-in-a-lifetime selfie on the moon’s surface.  It opens today 20 July and runs unitl 25 September.  It is also free!

This installation allows us to contemplate and observe one of the most significant journeys that humanity has taken and allows us to imagine possibilities for humankind.

It will also feature in  The Film Festival and  The Great Exhibition 2019: Space: God, The Universe and Everything.

Tickets for these great events are available now!

Full information is available on the  Lichfield Cathedral website
