Your Staffordshire Your Magazine!
The primary aim of the magazine is to communicate directly with you, the citizens of Staffordshire, and to highlight the work the county council is involved with as well as looking at the services it delivers.
Welcome to the autumn/winter edition of Your Staffordshire.
With the nights drawing in and winter well and truly on its way the focus of this edition is very much on what the county council is doing to keep us all safe.
On the centre pages you’ll see that we’re investing £3 million pounds in new police community support officers and detached youth workers to help tackle a range of issues in Staffordshire including anti-social behaviour.
We’re also putting millions of pounds into improving street-lighting across the county as well as injecting extra funding into improving our roads. And talking of funding as part of a pilot scheme in the Stafford and Staffordshire Moorlands area we’re giving people the chance to have their say on what community facilities get Local Member Initiative Scheme funding – see page ten for more details.
On a separate note can I say a big thank you to all of you who took the time to fill in the questionnaire in the last edition of Your Staffordshire. We had well over 200 questionnaires returned and your opinions and ideas will really help shape future editions of our magazine. Watch out for the next edition of Your Staffordshire which should land on your doorstep in February next year with a brand new look.
In the meantime if you want to know more about Staffordshire County Council please visit our website www.staffordshire.gov.uk
Have a good autumn and winter - see you in 2009.
County Councillor John Taylor, Staffordshire County Council Leader
Your Staffordshire is quite unique as far as it is the only publication that gets delivered to every single household and business throughout Staffordshire. With a print-run of 388,000, it actually has an estimated audience of around one million readers.
The magazine is written and edited by the county council's communications team and unlike other publications around the country, it does not carry generic articles and competitions - all our articles and competitions are tailored specifically for Your Staffordshire.
Here on the web you can download a PDF version, as well as viewing exclusive content we just couldn't fit in the magazine.
We are also really keen to develop the online version of Your Staffordshire to include many more extended articles and more exclusive stories in the future so watch this space.
If you are interested in advertising in our magazine you can call Lynn Benton on 01782 338396, or you can email lynn@onestopmedia.co.uk
