An employee guide to the Strategic Plan 2008-2011

Over the last year, a lot of work has been underway to help employees better understand and support the need for change within Staffordshire County Council. It has also been important that employees are clear about what our priorities are this year and in the future so they know what they can do to help us achieve what we need to. This is especially significant given the many challenges we are facing over the coming years including ever decreasing budgets from central government, higher expectations on services and changing the organisation so that it is best placed to respond to customers' needs.

Whether an employee works in a front-line service or a supporting role, it is important they understand where the organisation is heading and know what our vision and aims are. However, it is sometimes hard to work out how a grand target about services for older people, highways, regeneration or vulnerable children relates to their jobs. To help with this, we have asked a number of employees to tell us about their jobs and how they contribute to the council achieving its aims. You can see them in the 'Together we can' booklet.
