Sustainable Development
Our research and extensive evidence base supports the strategic planning functions of both the County Council and the West Midlands Regional Assembly.
We are involved with the development of the West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy, the County Council Local Transport Plan, the County Council's Minerals and Waste Local Development Frameworks and the Staffordshire districts Local Development Frameworks. We also provide a research support service to the sustainable development block of the Staffordshire Local Area Agreement (LAA).
Our key areas of work provide the demographic, land availability and socio-economic data and analysis which support future policy development. Key data sets include the 2001 Census, information on employment and housing land developments within the County, population and household projections and economic information.
In this section you will find data and information about the land use and planning issues in Staffordshire.
