Local Economy
The economy of Staffordshire is ever changing with new opportunities and issues raised daily.
The County's economy is undergoing a significant and sustained period of change, fuelled by a variety of factors notably global competition, new technologies, the development of a knowledge economy, an ageing workforce and the effects of selective interventions by central and regional government.
We provide the most comprehensive source of knowledge and analysis in relation to Staffordshire's local economy. We hold a wide variety of information including data on Gross Value Added (GVA), local firms, enterprise rates, industrial structure, income, productivity, industrial and commercial floor space, investment and activity on our industrial estates.
Industrial Profiles 2007: Profiles of every industrial estate in Staffordshire have recently (February 2008) been completed by the Research Unit. The profiles offer details of the occupancy and contact details of all industrial estates throughout the administrative county. Maps are included. The reports are produced by each district council area and are available on CD-Rom in
*.PDF format on request from Jonathan Vining, 01785 27 7353.
