Other county councillor committees

As well as the Cabinet and Scrutiny and Performance Committees and Panels there are other committees where councillors represent you. 

Probably the committee that would be of most interest to you is:-

• Planning Committee  which determines all planning applications relating to 'county matters' such as minerals and waste developments together with applications for development to be carried out by the County Council, in Staffordshire

Members of the public are able to speak for 5 minutes at Planning Committee meetings.  Find out more about public speaking at a Planning Committee meeting.

Some matters cannot, by law, be dealt with by the Cabinet, as well as planning, other matters are licensing and regulatory functions, although there are some others.  All members of the Council are eligible to serve on a non-Scrutiny Committee.
