Award winning centre receives new terrace
A brand new sun terrace and patio area at Steeple View Resource Centre, Uttoxeter was officially opened by the Mayor of Uttoxeter, Councillor Pauline Morrison, on the 15th July.
The patio was funded by a £1000 grant from County Councillor Geoff Morrison's LMIS allocation. The Staffordshire County Council funds bought the materials and the hard work to build the patio was done by volunteers from Sudbury Prison.
Councillor Geoff Morrison said:
"The LMIS funds are ideal to kick start projects such as this and I am grateful for the work that the Sudbury volunteers did. It just shows what can be achieved with a bit of good old fashioned community spirit."
The Mayor of Uttoxeter, Councillor Pauline Morrison was full of praise for the centre and its staff,
"We are regular visitors to Steeple View and I am always impressed by the friendly, caring atmosphere that the staff and the manager, Angela Noblett, create."
Last September the centre's work in providing services for older people was recognised by an 'Impact on the Community Award' from Trent and Dove Housing Association at a ceremony in the Pirelli Stadium, Burton on Trent.
