Members and Democratic Services Unit

This division provides support for County Councillors the Chief Executive and other departments.

This includes responsibility for the organisation of major events including the annual Civic Church Service, the Chairman's Charity Reception, and other ad hoc events.

A secretarial service is provided for the Chairman and Leader of the Council.

The Unit supplies information and support to Members to enable them to perform their duties as ward councillors and also where they are representing the Council on regional and national organizations.

The Unit is implementing a comprehensive Training & Development Programme for elected Members.
