Dealing with the media / press releases
Publicity is all about making a buzz and telling people about your project or initiative.
In its simplest form, publicity is the act of contacting the media (i.e. newspaper, magazine,TV and radio journalists) to persuade them to write a story about you.
It helps you to reach more people than you could ever do personally. For example, the Express and Star in Stafford has a daily circulation of over 143,000. That's an awful lot of people who could read about your project!
Press releases are the best way of providing the journalist with a news story and the information that they need.
