AXISe Internet Member Self Service

This new service is now available and allows active and deferred members of Staffordshire County Council’s Pension Scheme to access information relating to their membership online. You will have the ability to check membership details and perform a number of benefit calculations. Brief details of the available screens are shown below however you should also make use of the help screens available via the menu on each screen.

Note: the online facility has been recently upgraded and should now allow users of web browsers other than Internet Explorer (e.g. firefox and opera) to access all screens.

New Users
If you have not been sent a password you can request one by clicking the link at the bottom of the page and selecting "Password Request". Currently, if successful you will return to the "Password Request" screen, but no confirmation will be made. This will be improved in the next release. Unless you get an error message you can assume that your request has been successfully sent.

Your password will be posted to your home address by second class post. You should therefore allow up to 10 working days for receipt, subject to workload. Please note that password requests will not normally be processed until the following working day.

On receipt of your password you should first read the warnings below. You can then click on the link at the bottom of the page and select "Enter". You will need to enter your Surname, NI Number and your password exactly as quoted in the letter as it is case-sensitive.

When you first access the service you will be required to change your password and select two lifestyle questions from the list provided. Any subsequent visits to the site will require you to answer one of your chosen questions. Should you forget your password or lifestyle question you should refer to the section entitled "Forgotten/Mistyped Password" below.

Warning: Estimated benefit calculations

The calculations are based on regulations as they are known to us at this time and are subject to change. Also, the pay used initially is the latest known to us but could be almost 12 months out of date, although you can input a more current figure if you wish.

Therefore, it must be appreciated that any figures quoted are only intended as a guide and no decision to retire should be made solely upon these figures.

Should you be contemplating retirement in the near future you should always request a written estimate from Pension Services.

Forgotten/Mistyped Password

If you have entered the wrong password 3 times you will be locked out of the system. If you have forgotten the password or simply entered the password incorrectly (e.g. in the wrong case) send an e-mail using the address above and it will be unlocked for you and/or a password reminder will be sent.

Known Errors Within the System

The following problems may arise while you use AXIS online. They are known about and will be rectified as soon as possible. Please do not notify us if you encounter anything listed below.

Calculations if you are already over 65
The system will restrict service to age 65 even if you have worked beyond that age. Seek a written estimate if you are thinking of retiring in the near future.

Inability to enter certain dates for benefits
It should also be noted that if you choose a date later than that shown by default, the system currently will not allow you to try an earlier date without starting the benefit calculation again from the menu. Again this should be rectified in the future.

The service provides the following options:

Personal Details shows personal details including your home address, which you can amend if necessary. NB Avoid the use of commas and quote marks (e.g. enter Bramble Cottage not "Bramble Cottage").

Membership Details shows details of your service including any changes to your hours of work.

Transfer Details will show any service brought into the scheme (if applicable), but is currently limited to 3 entries.

Financial Details shows your start date, contribution rate and the latest pay details known to us.

AVCS and Added Years Details shows any purchases you are making (if applicable).

Benefit Projector allows you to perform a number of benefit calculations. You can amend certain dates and use a more accurate pay figure if the one we show is out of date. If you are nearing retirement and wish to ensure your calculations are accurate you may request a written estimate via the e-mail address shown above.

Options allows you send a new or revised Nomination Form as well as amend your password or lifestyle questions. NB you will need to print off the Nomination Form and fill it in as a signature is required.
