Scrutiny at Staffordshire County Council: Get Involved

Community engagement is central to the work of Scrutiny Committees at Staffordshire County Council and ensures that the recommendations made by our Committees are reflective of what the people of Staffordshire feel, and that our services are delivered in response to your views.

We welcome and encourage your involvement in the scrutiny process and there are a number of ways in which you can get involved.

Scrutiny Meetings

Except on rare occasions, scrutiny meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity to listen to proceedings. There may also be opportunities to contribute directly to a scrutiny review depening on the nature of the work being undertaken.

The Scrutiny Work Programme

You can contribute to the annual work programmes of the Committees by suggesting a topic for scrutiny review.

If you would like to propose a subject for scrutiny please download and complete the form below.

Please return the form by e-mail to either:

Sarah Garner - sarah.garner@staffordshire.gov.uk

or, by post to:

All suggestions for scrutiny will be considered by the appropriate Committee, in accordance with agreed criteria. We will let you know whether or not they agree to include the matter in their work programme.

Participating in Scrutiny Work

As part of the scrutiny investigations Committees may undertake consultation with service users.

If you are particularly interested in Health and Social Care issues you could also consider getting involved in Local Involvement Networks (LINks) which are supported by Staffordshire University.
