Children's Wellbeing
New ways of working will help us to take care of the county's most vulnerable children and is clearly a major priority.
We believe our new Families First approach will allow our multi agency teams of child protection workers to focus more closely than ever before on the relatively small number of children at serious risk of harm.
Our social work teams already do a good job, but our new approach will mean that we will intervene in the cases where we know children are vulnerable at the earliest possible stage.
We will also continue to vigorously promote our adoption and fostering services. Where we do have to take children into the care of the county council it is far better that they are looked after in a family environment.
We are always on the look out for residents who are able to offer a good home to a Staffordshire child and I would urge anyone who believes they can help to contact us.
It is no secret that we are living through difficult economic times and changes need to be made. However, it is our pledge to continue to provide a first class service to the taxpayers of Staffordshire have become accustomed to.
