Council Tax is a local tax set by local councils to help pay for local services.

Council Tax is collected by district councils.

The County Council precepts on the district councils for its share of council tax revenue. For 2008/09 the County Council's council tax for Band D was £985.44. This was the fifth lowest council tax of any County Council in England.

County Council Finance

Further details on the finances of the County Council are available by using the links on the left hand side of the screen.  These are:
