Foreword by the Chief Executive
 |
| Nigel Pursey - Chief Executive |
I welcome this County Council Performance Management Framework as a clear statement that this Council is committed to improvement. This document sets out what Staffordshire County Council intends to attain, how our aims and targets will be achieved and the responsibilities we have all got to make sure that Staffordshire is a great place to live work visit and invest.
Improving the performance of the County Council is dependent on the support and guidance that we all receive to do our job. The commitment to improvement runs through the County Council. The elected members will each have 'job descriptions' and receive Personal Development Reviews. In order to ensure that performance management issues are prioritised and followed through there are quarterly meetings between portfolio holders and Directors and I meet twice a month with Directors. More information on performance management, performance development through Investors in People and management competencies and how they link together can be found in this framework.
This framework explains the aspects of performance management that apply to the whole of the County Council and the guidance must be followed if we are to achieve our ambitions for improvement. Each Directorate has more detailed performance and business management processes and these fit into and can be accessed through this corporate framework.
