Learning Disability Day Services Consultation 2013
Making sure that anyone with a learning disability gets the best possible care and support is one of Staffordshire County Council's main goals.
This year we want to review our current day opportunities. Do they offer the best range of suitable and enjoyable activities, the best quality of care and a supportive and stimulating environment?
We want to provide the best service possible. We are looking at ways to improve how days services to people with learning disabilities are provided. To do this we want to change and modernise our approach to give users more choice, control and independence.
We want you to have a chance to share your thoughts on the day opportunities we provide and on our ideas for the future.
Between 19th August and 15th November 2013 this public consultation will run to gather the views of people with learning disabilities, their carers, staff and the general public.
Why we are consulting
The consultation has now closed. Thank you to all those who took the time to complete the survey.
We asked for your thoughts and opinions because we want to be sure our services are suitable, able to meet future needs and can help everyone in Staffordshire to live independent and safe lives with support when needed.
Our proposals will affect you or the person you care for.
We know that change can be unsettling and we know you will have questions, concerns and opinions. The aim of this public consultation was to get your thoughts on our ideas.

What happens next
The feedback from this consultation will be analysed and used to inform the County Council's Cabinet in their decision on how best to support people in the future. The final Cabinet decision will be made by March 2014, when a report from this consultation should also be available.
