The primary role of each Scrutiny and Performance Panel/Committee is to review, scrutinise and monitor the performance of the Council in relation to its service and policy priorities, objectives and performance targets, in the areas within the scope of that Scrutiny and Performance Panel/Committee to determine the contribution each makes to the achievement of the County Council's Corporate priorities.
The Children and Young People Scrutiny and Performance Panel is responsible for scrutinising:
• Education and educational attainment
• Health of children and young people
• Vulnerable children
• Libraries, Archives and the Arts
• Leisure, cultural and sports facilities
• Community and Learning Partnerships
• Youth Service and Outdoor Education
• Post 16 and continuing education
• Road safety (in relation to children and young people)
• Consultation and participation of children and young people
