Magazine helps us reach out to our public

I helped to launch the County Council'a new magazine, Your Staffordshire, last week.

We met the public and handed out copies of the new publication in Stafford's Market Square.

The magazine was generally very well received and there were a lot of constructive comments.

It is important that we communicate as openely as possible and tell people about what we are doign and Your Staffordshire will be a very useful medium for doing this. It should also prove cost-effective. There is a lot of information we have a statutory duty to put in the public domain which can be a costly process, but Your Staffordshire will provide us with viable alternative to the usual methods.

It should arrive through the post boxes of all homes in the county this week.

We are already getting some very good feedback.

In the meantime Nigel Pursey and myself have had the second of our face-to-face meetings with district Leaders and Chief Execs that I mentioned recently. This time we travelled to Newcastle for a very positive meeting.
