New scheme is a national trend setter

One of Staffordshire county council's highest priorities is to get you involved with the decisions that affect you, and we're leading the way on the national stage.

We're one of just handful of council's that are giving you the chance to have a say on how money bound for local services and initiatives is spent.

Here in Staffordshire we were one of the very first to introduce the Local Member Initiative Scheme (LMIS) which has seen over 3,400 projects financially supported with a grant from their county councillor.  To make sure we're spending the money in the right places, we're now testing out a new scheme to give you the chance to vote for which projects you want to receive funding.

If you live in the participating areas of Stafford or the Staffordshire Moorlands,

please take the time to vote and have a direct impact on the community services and initiatives that are available to you in your area.

Over 130 projects have applied for funding which will benefit a wide cross-sectional of the community.  With your help, we can make sure that your council tax is being spent in the best possible way.

This isn't just a consultation exercise.  It's about elected county councillors and the people living in their area coming together to make a difference.

I look forward to this scheme rolling out across the county if our pilot is successful. In the meantime, county councillors across the county are still accepting applications for funding from community projects and initiatives.
