Raising awareness of our services for vulnerable people.
Although we're currently assisting over 16,000 people at any one time through the programme, we're launching a campaign to help more people find out about Supporting People in Staffordshire and how its services can help them live a better quality of life. We continue to help a range of vulnerable people, including older people who need support, homeless people, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health problems, ex-offenders, young people at risk and also people with drug or alcohol problems.
Staffordshire Supporting People funds over 270 services, more than 65 organisations to help provide support services. These organisations employ around 490 support workers in supported housing and sheltered housing services.
We're due to take a series of roadshows out to all eight districts in the Spring. This will help us communicate valuable information about Supporting People and what it does, making it more easily accessible out in the communities.
Towards the end of February we're also having our inspection with the Audit Commission. As Supporting People continues to go through a period of change and gathers more pace momentum, the inspection will help us identify how we can introduce any further improvements to benefit those who ultimately use these services.
