District Integrated Transport Strategies
Integrated Transport Strategies have been developed for the eight Districts / Boroughs in Staffordshire and we are keen to receive your views on them during November and December 2011. The Strategies will be reviewed annually to reflect your comments as well as continuing changes in transport issues and priorities.
We have developed them by engaging with local County Councillors, bus service providers and our partners from the District and Borough Councils. We have also used the plethora of information available to us such as accident data, congestion data, traffic models, junction assessments and local planning data. Where possible, our engineers have completed preliminary designs to assess the deliverability of scheme proposals.
For each District, we provide an overview of the transport issues, problems and our recent achievements, and then we summarise the challenges for the future which range from local community issues such as pedestrian safety in South Staffordshire through to new roads needed to access housing sites in Lichfield and Stafford. Bringing together all the transport challenges and opportunities in one overarching document, will help us to target our transport investment and help us to secure other potential resources including developer contributions.
