LTP Strategic Environmental Assessment

The 'Strategic Environmental Assessment' (SEA) will help us predict what effects the LTP may have on the environment. We can then identify ways to minimize the impact and build these into the LTP.

The SEA looks at:

- Biodiversity

- Air Quality
- Population - Climate Factors
- Human Health - Material Assets
- Flora and Fauna             - Cultural Heritage
- Soil - Landscape
- Water - Inter-relationships

Before conducting the SEA, we must firstly set out how we are going to tackle it and exactly what we intend to achieve through a Scoping Report.

As the LTP develops, we will check to see if individual policies are environmentally sound and sustainable when measured against the objectives in the Scoping Report.  The results will be published in an Environmental Report.
