LTP Equality Impact Assessment

We will carry out an 'Equality Impact Assessment' (EIA) as a core part of the development of the LTP. The EIA predicts the affect of LTP policies and activities on particular groups within the population. These groups are defined on the basis of gender, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, disability, age, where they live, etc.

In conducting the EIA, we will be aiming to create positive effects that promote equality and inclusivity, and celebrate diversity.

However, should an LTP policy or activity look like it might have a negative impact, this could increase a group's exclusion from participating fully in society. By predicting such effects at an early stage we can adjust the LTP accordingly.
