Staffordshire County Council has joined forces with two private sector partners, Accord and Wrekin Construction.
The partnership is improving the delivery of highway maintenance and major project construction in Staffordshire, harnessing private sector innovation and creativity and public service commitment and focus - serving the people of Staffordshire.
Staffordshire Highways is responsible for all aspects of highways work, from day-to-day repairs and refurbishing worn out roads, bridges and other highways infrastructure, to investigating accident sites and enhancing the general road environment. It is also responsible for the winter maintenance operation to keep roads safer during icy weather.
Staffordshire Highways also delivers on the County Council's major economic regeneration projects creating thousands of jobs - boosting the economy and the quality of life for the people of Staffordshire.

Contacting Staffordshire Highways
Staffordshire Highways looks after the roads and pavements in Staffordshire. We have over 5,600 km of roads, over 100,000 road lighting units and illuminated signs and 270 pedestrian and traffic control facilities.
Clarence, Staffordshire's Customer Lighting and Roads Enquiry Centre, is the best way to contact Staffordshire Highways.

The County Council maintains over 2,500 miles of public footpaths and bridleways, ensuring everybody can enjoy the beauty and natural diversity of the countryside on the doorstep. Any problems relating to public rights of way can be reported to Clarence too.
Our team are out throughout the year checking the system for problems, but with a network this size it is difficult to spot every problem. You can help us by reporting any potholes, blocked road drains, fallen trees, broken lights or footpath problems to CLARENCE.
Our highly trained CLARENCE operators will make sure that your problem gets to the right team for action. Each call is logged with a personal job number and you can follow it through until the problem is solved.
